Sometimes, just opening

the door to getting help can

make a difference…

Welcome to our practice.  If you have ever wondered, “What’s wrong with me” and want someone to explore those questions with you, this may be a good time to pursue therapy.  Together we will ask better questions of “What has happened to me?” (past), “Why am I choosing what I’m doing right now?” (present), and “What do I want for myself?” (future).

There is an odd benefit from connecting with someone – who is largely unaffected by our choices – who can nonetheless help us sort out our thoughts, feelings, actions, beliefs, and motives so that we discover alternatives.  We personally know those benefits because of the people who’ve helped or counseled us and our families.  All of us in the practice share a relational orientation and believe in the power of listening and actively interacting with whatever clients present to us (both verbally and nonverbally). While we have experience with a lot of people and situations, we are also always learning and benefitting ourselves from the stories presented to us. It is a privilege to come alongside people.

We work with individuals, couples, families, churches and businesses - offering counsel, consultation, training and mediation in the Northern Virginia area.

Whether you come here or seek counsel elsewhere, we hope you get the help you seek.

“What is the bravest thing you’ve ever said?” asked the boy. “Help,” said the horse. “Asking for help isn’t giving up, it’s refusing to give up.”

-from The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy
